It's fascinating how the Aptera will function so well as a commuter car and as a road trip car (for driver + 1) and as a RoboTaxi. They're doing something right.

How is uber not profitable when they charge me 15 dollars and only pay the driver 3 dollars. And my 30 dollar surcharge during peak hours pays the driver an extra 1 dollar. ???

It’s fascinating that there’s really many good use case scenarios for Aptera. People really aren’t getting just HOW big a deal Aptera’s design ethos is. Personally I see Aptera licensing FSD IF Tesla can prove the viability and full safety of FSD, I suspect don’t know ( I don’t think anyone does right now) that a FULLY autonomous but completely safe FSD is a ways off, I’m Gona guess 10years out, but who knows right?
But ALL good points you made. The cost just to charge on a fleet wide basis would be huge advantage for Aptera’s efficient design, it could possibly even make a Uber or Lyft more profitable using a human driver. Chris has said a third seat in 250mi version is something they will explore later, also let’s not forget they are already looking at their basic design concept being applied to a larger 4wheel design.

I rather have an Aptera vs a model 3. For a commuter vehicle thing is built for it absolutely awesome.

You're right, Aptera is inevitable.

In the future an aptera style car could be useful since most trips are single person trips.
But I think a combination of induction charging/ battery swap/ fast charging while an attendant is cleaning may be better.

It would be way cheaper to use a DCFC station covered in solar than to use solar built into the vehicle. It would reduce the amount of parking space and increase vehicle utilization all while letting you utilize cheaper solar

I can see future companies buying aptera as their fleet vehicles bc of how cost effective it will be for companies to maintain their vehicles, charge and the less weight of the vehicles since it doesn't have back seats, etc...

Think you nailed it on the head with your assumptions - true FSD is 15 years away. Tesla buying Aptera seems a longshot but super airdynamic 2 seaters definitely are the optimal robotaxi especially if AEB is common and human drivers are rare

It makes sense in efficiency; we need to see more information on durability

I think it will be great to be able to rent an Aptera in different locations. When I fly somewhere I usually only need a couple of seats and to haul luggage. But I would want to drive it. It looks like fun to drive.

I think the deciding factory for witch vehicle is the most efficient will be decided more on all weather comfort and how long the vehicle lasts then the per mile power consumption. CyberTruck has some counter intuitive aerodynamics Aptera could win out but Seems there are a lot of details that wont show up until there in use that will decide witch one is better.

Ultra TSLA bull wearing backwards baseball cap? I see what you did there. 😂

Put Optimus at charge stations clean, fix, and charge.

Aptera still looks like a beached submarine designed by a Snork!

Major flaw in your aptera solar argument. Aptera nor no one else has demonstrated the ability to mass produce a price sensitive ev. Imo it requires so much complexity whatever robo taxi tesla is procuring will still be cheaper.

I drove in the waymo, robo taxi, in Phoenix a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty amazing. In looking forward to seeing it in more cities.

🤣

You make a brilliant point and it's one I am embarrassed I did not think of before.

_Who cares_ if Aptera can not seat more than two people. Order 2 Aptera taxis if you need to move 4 people. It'll still be cheap as hell.

This is Brilliant.😎 Not only because you make so many amazing ✅points-- all based on a "hypothetical" 🤔scenario which you preface at the very beginning where you willing to admit defeat🏳 . So, in the end by starting w/ defeat you come away with a huge win! 🏆Once again, nicely done.

I think that there is also a safety aspect. I am not saying an aptera is unsafe but there is less crash testing requirements for auto cycles and probably less safe from getting in an accident.
