I disagree, the AI we have now is only good at rephrasing already existing code. Most code that exists is bad code, we can even see it now, chatGPT is a bad programmer and its even worse at innovating algorithms and data structures.
I think all that will happen is that we will se less code monkeys and more real programmers.
