I’m so excited to share a bit of the BTS of my cooking course in this video. A lot has gone into creating this course, meaning I wanted to ensure you get as much value as possible!

Btw, you can find the FULL RECIPE for this Tofu Vermicelli/Semiya Upma, a classic South Indian breakfast over on my blog at:

the “feminist rebellion” and refusing to cook is the most I’ve related to someone 😭 Great video as always!

Haha! Exactly me!

And I hated those aunties who boast their daughters’ cooking skills! Now when I look back, I could have started cooking way early, and those aunties’ sons could have learnt as well! Both of us were wrong. I am not gonna let my daughter (if there is going to be a son) like me :). It’s a basic necessity to cook!

I agree with you. Cooking should be a must-learn skill. In fact, basic cooking should be taught at school maybe in class 6-7.

Same I always used to think why females only cook in kitchen why not male …
But as I grew up I learned from my past mistakes that a person needs to learn to cook for her/him not for others

But if u r good not selfish like me than you can cook for others too..

"I don't cook, I don't clean, but let me tell I got this ring" ❌
"I cook and I clean cause I'm a self-respecting human being" ✅

Being an independent woman is an important part of Feminism.
And you can't be independent without learning to feed yourself, something a lot of young girls don't realize. xD

I agree, cooking is a life skill. As i am now 26, my feminist rebellion self has subsided and i have started liking cooking videos and content. It doesn't repel me anymore, i actually want to learn how to cook for myself. I can't cook for others ever as it's not something i enjoy but cooking is a self expression and sometimes you want your favourite dishes cooked by you and you can eat them alone. Taste divine. I am definitely signing up for the wait list.

Most of us young women have rebelled against it because it wasn't just cooking, it was a gender role. The compliments weren't that you are a good chef, people said your in laws will be happy, etc. All of us could feel the unsaid words and emotions. So, rejecting these tasks became a way for us to let people know that we won't fit into their idea of "woman".
Now, most of us have become independent and are empowered, so, we can finally do what we want. I personally realized cooking is like meditation for me. I enjoy it.

same reason😂😂😂, when I was younger I hated cooking or even going into the kitchen because people always assumed that its something that girls do, so I made up my mind that I will only cook if my brother did too. And he does now, but I am way better than him 😎.

As a guy who grew up cooking because my Asian grandma taught me, I have to be very careful about who I date. I’ve met many women who don’t want to cook (or don’t know how) and when they find out I can cook they are relieved that they will “never” have to cook and that I can do “all the cooking” for them. Yeah no…it’s a basic life skill and I don’t want someone relying on me for food.

As long as I'm living under my parent's roof, i will never cook because once my mom finds out I'm capable of cooking, she'll always ask me to cook anytime i have a craving. Ofc i learned from her and i have a passion for cooking and i make stuff every now and then but never when my mom is around.

Well i will always be grateful to my parents for i had started cooking lunch and dinner ever since i was 10. I got strict Asian mom and she doesn't differentiate. There are 4 childern including me: 2 girls and 2 boys. Even my brother can cook and makes his own lunch boxes for school, the youngest brother who is 11yr old, cannot cook but helps in doing household chores .
All of us really enjoy making new dishes + doing household chores too

My mum didn't allow me in the kitchen until i was 19. And even now, six years later, she still want to know what i want to cook so she could talk me out of it. She likes to cook meat and traditional boring food, so it's always a surprise for me if she likes what i cooked.
