PreSonus Monitor Station 2 Power Connector Issue

I bought the PreSonus M2 for my home studio shortly ago. When I was wiring it up I noticed that the receptacle plug in the back of the unit just didn't "Feel Right". And indeed if I moved the unit about, the power would cut out.

But I have a 2 year warrantee with Sweetwater and I was not in the mood to send it back. However, the situation degraded over the next week where less and less vibration or disturbance would cause it to cut out. It of course makes a loud noise through the monitors that makes one cringe.

This video is to demonstrate the problem to Sweetwater so that I can exchange it. Hopefully PreSonus can get back to the manufacture in China that is selling them crap.

I like the unit otherwise. It needs an XLR input for the talk back microphone though.

I am firmly in the PreSonus camp. I don't put this out to dirty them - only to help make the product line stronger.

Sweetwater sent me a replacement unit right away. As always their customer service was excellent. The replacement unit behaved the same.

It was at this time that I discovered that the issue is actually the fit of the DC plug into receptacle. It just does not get in deep enough to have a solid connection. I then noticed that when I put the plug in - I need to push hard and give it a twist. This gets it in a bit deeper as the plastic on the plug compresses - and I think that it also keeps the plug from shifting. I will get a video of that out shortly.
