You can buy Esbit tablets in packs of 6 which will fit into the stove (they are packed closer together). I have tried one of these knock off stoves and found that the fuel burns very quickly. I've heard that some of the el cheapo fuel tablets are blended with paraffin wax, which is even messier than the hexamine Esbit tablets. This may explain why the stove distorted from the heat of the burning tablets!
