I just tested mine "in the field", using a generic aluminum windscreen. 7 minutes for a full boil (2 cups water in an 1100 ml pot) It works...but the one negative is the sticky residue it left on the bottom of my pot.

Aluminum foil wind screen . light weight and will keep the heat concentrated on the container.

As stated you need a windscreen for these as well as using a heat deflector underneath the stove.

you will definitely get better efficiency if you use a wind screen (i.e. Tin Foil [very light and cheap] commercial wind screen [ more durable, heavier, $$] drier flu vent flange [$ light and durable])
