Asus Ally: EmuDeck Early Access - Install, Configuration and Game Play

Note: I apologize for the volume leveling on the klaxon. I already cleared the project or I would do a reupload. My apologies - more EmuDeck stuff will be coming in the future.

EmuDeck is a fantastic application designed to make emulation a "turnkey" experience; from installing and configuring emulators for you to setting up complex controller configs - it also installs other helpful tools for the emulation user.

In this video, we'll show you what it is like to install this Patreon-only (currently) package. We'll talk about how it works as well as take you through Emulation Station, media scraping and yes - you can be sure I'll show off some great emulation of games as we go.

When I get my ROG Ally, I'm going to go the Launchbox route, As I have everything set up portably already. However, I do enjoy the ease of Emudeck and use it with my Steam Deck.

Liking the Game Break sections! It's a great way to introduce us emulation fiends to unknown/'new' titles. Just one request though; could you change the introduction tone? It makes me jump each time it comes on. 😂

Idk why everyone is hating on the game breaks. They seem fine by me. Maybe try adding an on screen message showing what time to skip to if someone wants to avoid the break almost like how people skip ads?

so how do you feel about the lack of gyro on the ally? could be problematic for switch emulation… I got Handheld Companion’s gyro support working on my Ally but its very janky and overall doesnt touch the seamless gyro that the Deck has. I hope Asus provides some sort of software solution to gyro soon…

I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong and I’m litteraly at the firs step. I am at the “Installing dependencies…” page, I exit, I click back in and it just shows the same page when I go back into it. No matter how many times I try, what am I missing here?

Hey I did all that added some roms but not sure how to get it to read my button input so when I Press which ever button nothing happens I’ve gone into retroarch manually to try to fix it and nothing

so if you copy over via ftp from your SD Emulation folder, wouldn't that also copy over the media so you wouldn't need to scrape again?
