I recently cited EmuDeck as a huge reason why Nintendo making a Switch 2 is a bad idea. The Switch is a huge step back from the 3DS/WiiU in terms of emulation and the experience of it. Same thing goes for the NDS/Wii era. Sure, you can run that stuff on the Rog Ally or Steamdeck, but you're not going to get the experience of having the actual console. In fact, it's somewhat klunky to play any of those on any system other than original hardware. But the Switch, well, it's basically an XBox controller with a never used touchscreen and that's it. It's hardware is no where near as fast to make emulation difficult, either. The only thing stopping people from emulating everything is the maturity of the emulators. For a Switch 2, it's hacking whatever software they have in place to prevent it which will be more exploitable if they have backwards compatibility.

The counter argument was that emulation is too hard for the normies, but that's changing pretty fast with things like Emu-Deck. Emu-Deck is basically a download it and everything is there set up. You have what you need to get going right there.
