Planting Lime Light Hydrangeas

Fall is the perfect time to plant lime light hydrangeas and most other perennials. I am in zone 8a and dealing with Georgia clay. To amend the soil I add the following:

Soil conditioner (pine chips)
Mushroom compost
Rich organic soil
Proven Winner continuous release fertilizer
Mulch

The leaves will fall off during winter and the plant will go dormant. My favorite time to prune my lime lights is late winter. Georgia has fairly mild winters and buds will begin to appear the last week of February. That is my indicator to prune. Check out my video from February 2023 on how to prune lime lights.
Next up I am planting a hedge of maiden grass. Stay tuned for that one. 🌱

Ok ok okaaay, I grew up with these flowers in VA so they mean much. I live in GA now I wanted to have a hedge of these in my backyard. But I was discouraged from it because of the clay soil, sooo youre giving me hope with this. What's the light brown around it? Is that wood? And how has this amendment been working for you ???

I would never place plastic barrier in my beds.

That hole should always be at least twice the width of the pot.
