Its weird how different log houses in North America are compared to Finland. Thats actually so cool that u guys use complicated joins and stuff like that to form shapes in the frame. We just stack them on top of each other and cut the triangle shape to the wall for the roof 😯

My great uncle Joe hand built homes when he go back from WWII.
I met and visited with him for a weekend when he was high in his 80s. He had the most amazingly bright eyes!
I inherited his 8" draw knife.
One of my most cherished physical possessions.
"Ol' Joe. He chose the nails."

My uncle was a log house builder. He and my grandfather built my grandparent's log home with logs my grandfather logged off their own property. It's a beautiful home.

I can only imagine what majestic structures they built with Lincoln Logs when they were young. I for one created catapults for stomping on to launch the small pieces across the room.
