It is kind of noteworthy that both Dooku and Palpatine hated their fathers and their family. Both fathers hated their sons from birth. Both ended up killing at last a few family members. There is something about the rejection at such a young age that was keenly felt.

Palpatine grew up in a wealthy and powerful family in Naboo, so he always had this "superiority" complex from a young age. He got away with breaking rules and doing some pretty bad things such as killing a couple of people and his father covering it up for him. Palpatine as a kid felt nothing about murder because he saw those people he murdered as being less than him. Palpatine had this obsession for power and influence, and later when he became the Emperor he was obsessed with total control and omnipotence. He wanted to be God and have power over everything. He didn't care about the Sith lineage and rules, he didn't even care about the Sith at all, the Sith was only a stepping stone for him to get what he wanted and to put himself at the top of everything. That's why he was going through apprentices like crazy, any time he thought one of his apprentices had the potential to kill him, he'd get rid of them. If his apprentices had apprentices that were growing too strong, he'd order his apprentices to kill their apprentices so they couldn't team up to overpower him. Sidious was just the most evil and power-hungry character in the history of cinema.

In Legends Palps was already pretty well gone he was either born evil or quickly became even way before be reached his teens either way there was pretty much no detering him from his want for absolute power and well as immortality as well as knowledge yeah.

If they make a tv-show of Palpatine's rise to power I hope they use stuff like this.
Making it dark and psychological. Mabe he also hears dark whispers from somewhere out in space his whole life, making it a "cosmic horrorshow"

This what makes Palpatine the perfect sith, he was pure evil unlike most sith. He had a lust for power and would literally do anything to gain and maintain that power. That's also what makes him the perfect villain, he maybe pure evil but you can;t help but admire and respect him.

2 theory’s: Either Palpatine’s father sensed his force sensitivity and that’s what scared him

maybe he sensed his son’s future dark tendencies.
Either way the dad is the reason for Palpatine’s evil, great job Dad of the Year

Palpatine is what you get when a psychopath born in a wealthy family with no consequences is given control over the force. In many ways he is the PERFECT sith as he never had the capacity for good. He only cared about himself always and that’s why he both succeeded and failed.
