Pioneer VSX-1021K with Energy Take Classic 5.1

I have the same exact receiver. I also have the pioneer vsx 1020 k. The 1021 k is in the living room and the 1020 k is in my bedroom. I paid 364 dollars for the 1021 brand new off of ebay and a used 1020 k for 200 dollars at amazon. Both very good receivers. I was just wondering if that energy take classic sounds good without the sub. I listen to a lot of music without a subwoofer. Do they sound good enough to get by without a sub woofer? Any answer will help

Hello there . I had a question about the sanus wall mount . Does the mount use a key hole adaptor or does it screw right in the little hole on the back of the speaker . I just planned an order online for these surround sound speaker and I want to wall mount them . Thanks

@marcolerma97 - how did connect the sub to the receiver? Sub has a left and right port but the receiver has only 1. Another thing, did you try to connect a Mac or a pc to it? How you do this?

Sorry for answer you so lately.. I used brackets from the brand Sanus. The model is WMS3b. They hold the speakers really tight and well. they're a good choice.

Can you show me how you hooked up your speakers to the sub woofer and what cord you used

Can you tell me if this receiver will allow you to run all inputs out of the one HDMI out? Or does say the component use only the component output?

@jmyler the HDMI output goes to the tv. You can connect any capable HDMI device to anyone of the 5 ports. I have an Apple Tv2 and the HD box of the cable company.

Definitely, the sub is needed. The satellite speakers won't give you enough punch.

@mikeyjharris Yeap.. i couldn't wait, actually i burn the center channel. The reciever is good, but also for the price u could go for a Denon. Something better? a Marantz or a Rotel.
The speakers are nice, when i got an upgrade, Energy will be my choice, i want the Veritas line.

@unregistered0101 yeap.. u need only a rca to rca cable for the sub. it goes in the left channel and the phase of the sub must be in 0º. i have a monster cable for the sub but any cheaper brand must be ok. no difference.

@Blanchardrs for the $400 dlls i paid for this speakers totally worth it. The best value for the money in this price range. Bose its overvalued. i'd love to make a comparison but it's not in my hands.

i have the same speakers, and similar pioneer receiver. sounds great listening to music..
but when i am playing ps3 games i can barely hear dialogue.
like i was just playing starhawk and adjust in game settings turing voice way up. but i cant make out whats being said. the receiver is on "DTS", the game box says DTS. and i tried turning on/off eq, etc... in the reciever settings. nothing works. and the main characters voice always echos. its a real pis off

@BrownFamily004 The Speakers and the subwoofer goes straight to the Reciever. For the speakers i used a 18 gauge wire and for the Sub i have an RCA to RCA Monster Cable of 3.28 ft long model 450DCX. Hope the answer is helpful. Anything else u cand send me ur mail address if u want some pics.

Well, something was really wrong with the Center speaker then.. I just blown mine and now i have an amazing center KEF Q200. Next step, Floor stands Q500 or Q700.

turns out the centre speaker was defective, seized coil or shifted magnet, dude from klipsch said. damaged in transport. so im getting something thats not made out of buble gum and bottlecaps.

@issaaden i have the wallmount speakers from the brand Sanus model WMS3b. You can google them. they are pretty good. Hope the answer is helpful. Feel free to ask again if u have more doubts.
