I didn't understand the beauty of the Indian monsoon until I visited this state.

And I hated rain because where I'm from, rain is an annoyance.

But in India, it brings relief from the harsh summer and this particular state turns into waterfalls and an unbelievably green paradise. It wasn't until then that I realised the beauty of monsoon.

Maharashtra obviously. Our majestic ghats turn into waterfalls every monsoon. Some of my favourite memories are driving around Tahmini Ghat on rainy afternoons and eating vada pav and chaha.

I can totally relate. In rest of the world children mug up "rain rain go away, come again another But in Maharashtra, the kids sing "ye re ye re pavsa, tula deto Paisa, paisa zala khota, paus ala motha" or "shravan masi harsha manasi hirwal date
