Tutorial on How To Add or Install Google Tag Manager on Google Sites Website

I found some places saying that it's not possible to install Google Tag Manager on Google Sites Website new version. I made some attempts and with this short tutorial I'm showing step by step how I did it and how it works.

Interesting. It's basically like adding your own pixel to a page and using the UTM properties to track how far your customer travels until they bail out of your website.

Intuitively this makes sense for the header but I wasn't sure what to do with the footer tag. Thanks for the tutorial.

Why are you testing with google analytics?? You need to test through google tag manager which you are not doing?

This is completely waste of my time GA or gtm can only work when the tag is placed on the header. I was overwhelmed when I checked this video. Tried for my self. Tried multiple other options. But ended failure

thank you for the video. I was totally confused between my site on google sites, analytics, google search console, google site manager, cloning my website to run on Wordpress ONLY TO GET MY ANALYTICS working. We don't know if you already had GA integrated with your google pages. Most likely yes. Coz what you showed is GA integration, not GTM. Also you didn't test it via GTM, so most likely it didn't work for your and you showed wrong actions.

I still think it doesnt work. Have you tried some trigger and tag also try to debug ? I try this things and doent work.

Google sites may of updated since this video was posted as now you can click the header then click the settings icon on the left of google sites, click on Analytics and paste in the measurement ID from Analytics and switch on "Enable Analytics".
