Chain fishing was so good on XY and ORAS, but with how it works in SwSh is just awful. Basically in Gen 8 you are just fishing for the brilliant aura

I would say it’s easier than Ultra Wormholes too because while those are 1/3 for 5000+ light years it’s not easy to get 5000 light years while fishing is just timing

Best method: go outside on a weekend and play pokemon go from 2pm - 5pm

The problem is that to get the shiny charm, you need the full dex.. and you can't do it without trading :(

Man Pokémon make such fun ways to shiny hunt and either nerf it or completely remove it :(

Actually it's 1 out of 200 after 40 encounters straight. Shiny charm has no effect on chain fishing.

It's 1/100 without the charm and do not run away. You have to either catch or defeat the pokemon

Yeah chain fishing is great I got my first skrelp there only 29 encounters I don't remember how many times I broke the chain though.

Have you tried the poke radar it takes ages and I didn't even find a shiny
