Fly Tying Tutorial: Copper John

For those that came of age (in terms of fishing) over the last 20 years it is hard to imagine a time when the Copper John didn't populate nymph boxes. It is the perfect fly in that it doesn't mimic one thing but represents many, and has a little bit of everything: a little flash, a little movement, a little weight. Sure, the Prince, Hare's Ear and Pheasant Tail have been around longer, but the Copper John deserves to stand with them on the Mt Rushmore of classic nymphs.
