Replacing My iPhone With An Apple Watch

The Apple watch is wildly popular and I've often wondered, on its own, just how much could it get done? And what would the experience be like using it solo. So I did a little experiment...could I go the entire day without my iPhone and just use my Apple Watch Series 4? Here’s how the day went.

Edit: I have an apple watch series 4 & the storage capacity of the watch is 12.6gb.

For me, the whole point of having an Apple Watch is being able to get away from all the rabbit holes that come with having a smartphone (Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, etc). Yes, there's a whole lot more that you can do with a phone, but that's honestly the whole point. For people who are absolutely glued or addicted to their phones, I think the Apple Watch is a solid detox.

I truly love the Apple ecosystem. I started on an iPhone 3, long long ago! Got a MacBook Pro for college. Upgraded my phone. And when I got an iPad for productivity purposes iCloud was becoming a thing and all my stuff was synced up and it was perfection! I now live that iLife and I’m really really happy having access to all my stuff on all my devices no matter where I’m at!

You can also turn on audio for messages in settings in iPhone to send voice message or choose between send as audio or send as text. ''Raise to speak'' is also very helpful. Whenever you raise your wrist, Siri is already activated. So if you choose audio only for messages, just raise your wrist, wait 1 sec then say ''tell (name) (message)'' and it will be sent as voice message. If you choose in iPhone settings of apple watch for text messages to send audio and text....raise your wrist, wait 1 sec, say ''tell (name) (message)'' then apple watch will display options to send as audio or send as text. Only if the recipient has iMessage.

Interesting. I have an LTE series 4. But I had got in just Incase my phone dies or maybe an issue like yours. Im going to go a full day without my phone to experience what you have.

You can go into the phone app -> contacts -> call or text message to start a new text thread with anyone in your contacts list in your watch! Just tried it on my series 3
