Starve your distractions, feed your focus. Distraction destroy action. If it's not moving you towards your purpose, leave it alone. Keep in mind that there will always be distractions, but only if you allow them. We arrived where we are now because we choose to turn our backs on anything that can lead us astray from our goals. Let me share you our business story. I have a cookie shop in my college town. When I started it, I was living in my car with very little direction, just a huge passion to be successful. I just graduated college as well. I started a cookie shop out of a local bagel shop in their off hours at night. I was living in my car in the parking lot of the shop at the time with my boyfriend, Bran. It was a crazy experience but it worked! We became a success! And now we have our first storefront location (the second location is under construction now!) We started it to fund a year long backpacking trip around the world and to be successful while living the life of our dreams. I am definitely not where I want to take this to just yet, because our second location is under construction now! And it's leading to achieving even bigger things!

I have a sleeping disorder and I used to be like what you said -- deciding just to give up and use my phone because I can't sleep anyway. Since I was a kid, I've always had trouble sleeping: waking up constantly at night, nightmares, having a hard time falling asleep, etc. It got really bad last year and it felt like my life was ruined because I was always dreading going to sleep or extremely tired. However, I've been working really hard and I'm finally getting to a consistent sleeping routine! I have slow-release melatonin and a weighted blanket that helps prevent me from waking in the middle of the night, I've created an extensive night routine I follow, I drink Sleepytime tea, and I listen to soothing podcasts so I have something to focus on and not stress out or think about how I can't sleep. There is always a way out!

I have to say, "If you only ever get schooled, when are you going to be the professor" is probably my favorite line from this video! ❤ That's a perfect reminder for people to ACTUALLY DO THE THING, not just continuing to learn HOW to do the thing, but never executing.

My biggest distraction was always the sheer amount of things I needed to complete in one day. After following your advise, I now take the time to make a list of all of the things that need to be completed, batch them if possible, and schedule them on my calendar. Putting your advise to good use!!

Tony Robbins, after he went/goes to a seminar or learning session, immediately puts something into action he learned.

He said, most people (during the lunch break) would visit and go eat or waste time.

Instead he would find a way to implement at least a ‘part’ of what he’d learned. Solid advice.

I needed to hear the point about 'getting advice'. I am really bad about constantly trying to fill my head with ways 'to write creatively' instead of just writing creatively. And, just as you said, getting input is not doing.

Recently I deleted/unfollowed “friends” I don’t even talk to or keep up with anymore.
I just started m Instagram architecture/design page which gives me so much to do! I love it.
And my feed is all architecture and design material.
Still working on YouTube video content.
Finally getting to do the things I want to do!

Oh my goodness this video spoke to me! I’ve been in a constant state of negative internal chatter. I find myself constantly scrolling to find advice on time management, budgeting, stress management (the works)... this video was a total call out. I don’t think I can do it, so I’m reaching out to others. So powerful and gives me a better way to orient myself moving forward!

This is seriously one of, no actually the BEST content I have ever seen on productivity. It is said a different way in the video but in other words (my own) it does come down to 1) time wasters, 2) not taking action and 3) an unhealthy lifestyle. Wow! THANK YOU.

Thank you so much Amy for this video! It took this video to make me realize that all this time I'm blaming my fiance for distracting me when in reality I'm just using him as a scapegoat for the fact that my inner distractions are out of control! My health is total crap because I haven't been going to appts, my eating is even worse crap, AND my exercise regiment is literally non-existent. So thank you again for the virtual shake to snap me out of it.

“If all you ever do is get schooled, then when are you ever gonna be the professor!” Great advice. Theres nothing wrong with learning, but being proactive is the most important thing.
