Wake Up Call

Have you ever felt like we're living through a nightmare of consumption? That you wish you could un-hook yourself and reconnect with a life that is somehow more real and vivid? Then perhaps you're ready to heed Earth's Wake Up Call.

Today we live in a time when there is little to no understanding of how the goods we consume and take for granted came into being. Without this we lack the knowledge to understand the true costs of our consumption, and the power to take action. As a result we have become disconnected from Earth - the origin of our health, wealth and all of the 'things' we depend on.

Wake Up Call takes us on a fast-paced, animated glimpse of the true costs behind some of our most prized possessions - our electronic gadgets. Joining the dots between the stages of extraction, production, consumption and disposal, it reveals that, although our gadgets appear sleek and shiny, their appearance is misleading.

I have to admit, seeing this video really makes me think twice about things.

After a bit of research, I found the song in the beginning. However, it does contain a shitty beat a few seconds after the song has started. Its name is "What it feels like" by Cbob4.

Cool video but I'm sick of message - we get it already.

Find me someone who didn't know about this problem.

My issue is lack of answers. It's not as simple as turning off your shit and moving on.
The loudest voices are realistically actually doing nothing. The message is old and familiar.

If you really want to "change the story", then there needs to be methods developed to increase recycling effectiveness, and you need see more companies turning landfills and waste deposits into something positive not only for the planet, but for our growing and expanding lifestyle as we push towards the stars.

All that being said, I really did enjoy the video. Love me some animation.

And yet, always the dislikes. The humans will never be free from hatred.
I just hope the apocalypse is soon.

Ok...so having scrolled a bit down the comments, I know I'm like the 25th person to ask where can I find the very nice piano music playing at the begining and end. King by Priest seems to have that instrumental but I don't like all the rap vocals over it. Anybody know where can we find this version that is played in the video ?

I found finally the intro song. :) "V'aniss feat. Supreem Da Rezarekta' - Circle (Mad donald production)"
I thought that this song was only instrumental but it's not bad.

I have had like 5 phones, and my current phone is the iPhone 7, I´ve had had the iPhone 7 for almost a year and my previous phone was an iPhone 6s and I think I hd it for at least 3 years. I feel bad for the 5 phones I had had in my life.

Just imagine if we were a society that looked for longevity in a device. An Iphone that would satisfy the public for a decade rather than a year.

Yes that's the dilemma our world is confronted with and going over the conversation under this video it seams that some people really fall for this system and think its a good thing.
We can have comfort and high technologies and still be sustainable but not in a capitalistic run system because it works like a cancer cell, it needs to grow and win against competition all the time, the result is not the best product for humans but for the company/country/organisation.
We need a new way of living on this planet which allows advanced technologies alongside a sustainable environment.
