Who Cares About Climate Change?

Ninety-seven percent of qualified climate scientists say that the Earth is getting hotter and humans are to blame. Yet in the United States, at least, large segments of the population continue to think that global warming doesn’t exist, or that it's part of a natural cycle.

Some blame the media for the disconnect, or the public figures who deny climate change. Others say it’s because global warming is often seen as a distant threat — rather than the cause of dramatic storms, rising sea levels and ever-creeping global temperatures.

VICE News sits down with climate scientist Heidi Cullen to discuss why it's so hard to get people to care about climate change and what can be done to help people understand its impacts.

If so many people deny what 97% of all scientists say then we have a big issue. This issue is like a religion, because those people believe in something weird. Only a religion is able to deny science. So deny the climate change is a religion. Also deny what cause the climate change is a religion. And its also a issue with wrong or less education. And it turns out that the USA has most dumb president ever in the history of civilisation on this planet. And also the most dumb population atm on this planet. It is simple as that because science can't lie. Religions have a big history in deny science, this is not a new problem… if you deny climate change, if you deny what 97% of all scientists say, if you deny what cause the climate change you are part of that weird religion, like in the history when the pope said the earth is flat while the scientists said its not flat. science just can't lie, but religions always lie… and for that reason I think it makes no sense to argue with those people who believe in the opposite from what scientists say, because they believe in the opposite of science which makes no sense.
