Theory on the Duck Life series:
Duck Life: the first generation of racing ducks is born and you need to win and be champion.
Duck life 2: The main duck from Duck life 1 is now the champion in duck life 2. And you need to beat them from around the world.
Duck life 3: the ducks have been modified for better racing capabilities. Also the main duck from Duck life 2 has evolved into the champion in duck life 3 and gathered an army of domo's (really shows the games age and the powerful wave of nostalgia). And of course, you beat him.
Duck life 4: the ducks gain full sentience and can now speak full and proper English (or whatever other language you set the game to) and the fire duck is actually the supreme duck you played as in duck life 3, now devolved. You, as the soon to be champion beat him.
Duck Life Treasure Hunt: the champion you played as in duck life 4 is exploring caves for treasure and finds a crown in the cave. And news spreads across the galaxy.
Duck life space: an alien duck steals the crown which you get back after traveling the galaxy to find him and then you go home to a tornado.
Duck life battle: your flung into a place where the ducks have been battling all this time and become the best at battling in order to, you guessed it, get your crown back and when you were a master at both racing and battling...
Duck life adventure: the competitions of race and battle have collided and now some race, some battle, and some do both. Your duck is wanting to be an adventurer like Marco and runs away in order to do so. He eventually figures out that Marco is his/her father. And of course, becomes the champion.
