In the book this lady, really a girl, she’s only supposed to be 15 in the novel has an expanded role. It’s really one of the best parts of the book and expands on Llewelyn’s character and paints him as a decent human being who tries helping her out.

Llewelyn gets killed for three reasons:
1. he returned to the desert with water for the dying Mexican
2. he didn’t kill Chiguhr when he had the drop on him in the hotel
3. he stays out by the pool to drink beer with the girl instead of going into her room.
In other words, he gets killed because he has a sense of morality.

her words were prophetic, and that was some damn fine acting for a small role

This situation is done so much better in the book. It plays out the same but it lasts a couple days and you really feel the connection between him and the girl. Only for them to both die the next chapter. Masterful shit

I wonder how many people don't realize that she becomes the dead body floating in the pool when Ed Tom pulls up after the shoot out.

Most of you clearly don’t remember the movie. This is Llewelyn’s last scene alive in the movie. The next scene is her lying dead in the pool and him gunned down and dead. So, he clearly gave into temptation and was having beers with her by the pool, when the cartel arrived and shot them dead.

The story of my life, right there... except I'm not married, and no women ever hit on me, lol.

Always thought it was interesting she got shot there, and he was shot in the hotel room. Like, did the Mexicans just shoot her because? But I just realized because of this scene, he probably did go out there and have a beer with her. Mexicans showed up and caught him off guard and lead to her and him dead. He tried to retreat, taking his gun out of his case (there was a shot mexican when Bell showed up) and then got him in the doorway. If he just stayed in his hotel room he'd might have seen them coming and had a chance.

I love every scene in this movie and I don't know why. Someone should tell me why.

The symmetry in this movie is amazing. Example: In this scene Llewellyn says - "Looking for what's coming." Near the end of the movie when Bell visits his uncle Ellis, Ellis says - "You can't stop what's coming." Llewellyn was afraid. He knew Chigurh would eventually find him and kill him, but in the end there was nothing he could do to stop him.
