“That’s alright, I laugh myself sometimes. Not a whole lot else you can do” For reals

‘Natural to the line of work they’s in.’
That’s great.

Tommy Lee Jones was such an excellent casting choice for this role. He is such a believable sad old southern cop.

The way Tommy lifted his head to look through his readers after the laugh was brilliant

Jones' delivery on "Maybe their television set was broke" kills me every time

The acting in this film is more than flawless, it’s out of this world. The characters really become alive through these actors. Every time I watch it again I notice another little mannerism, a subtle tic, a half expression. It really is cinema at its best.

Me when this movie came out: Javier Bardem is the best villain ever
Me rewatching clips from the movie 12 years later: Tommy Lee Jones was born for this role

TLJ's perfect performance aside, let's give a hand to Garret Dillahunt as the deputy in this scene. This wouldn't have worked without his perfect reactions and timing.

The lesson that I got from this movie.. if you ever come across a bag full of money, make sure you check it for tracking devices.

"Ain't a whole lot else you can do."

Words to live by. Sometimes things happen. You just have to deal with it and move on.

Just moved to San Antonio about 2 months ago and saw Ed Tom Bell in a local Mexican restaurant. He kept a low profile of course.
Such a great actor and such a great movie. It's filled with classic lines.

When I first saw this I thought Tommy Lee was going to be some protagonist hero in the end. .... No, sir.
I like it better this way, he's just an old cop who doesn't have any clue where this crazy world is headed, accepts he can't fix everything, does his best then just retires.

Just about every conversational exchange scene in this movie is perfect.

I like the old sheriff at the end, basically telling him "it's always been like this"
