Canada could get a better U.K. trade deal post-Brexit, says Ambrose | Power & Politics

Canada should wait until after the United Kingdom has left the European Union to discuss a post-Brexit trade deal with the U.K., says Rona Ambrose. The former interim Conservative leader believes trade conditions might be better for Canada without an agreement if the U.K. crashes out of the EU at the end of October.

It is nearly impossible to do a trade deal in 1 year with anybody. Not just the EU. Take your time to research the average length of time to make trade deal instead of believing an easy sound bite. And the UK have not made a trade deal for nearly 50 years. We don't even have experienced negotiators. The EU and the US etc all do. Anyone who works in any field of work requiring skill will know how much experience counts. You always make mistakes to start with and trade deals are enormously complex.

Even though this trade deal means continued Canada-UK trade that will be done in the same way it was while the UK was in the EU. With a better Canada-UK trade deal to be done in the near future. Well the leverage on the EU is BS, the EU can’t change the deal. So they just have to wait, and if he gets rid of all tariffs the EU needs no deal, and Canada doesn’t need one, that is no leverage for anybody.
