If you run SQL Server Management Studio as Administrator (right click run as admin on the shortcut) it will work for windows authentication login, no need to create a new account, also it requires an additional registry addition (found it github issue discussion) to enable TCP connections from code. Once you have it running once you can create SA or other regular SQL account for future logins.

Docker Desktop on macOS runs an Arm Linux virtual machine to run the containers and inside it it is using Rosetta, the Linux version

Never used SQL Server, but I am glad that I have been able to run both Postgres and Oracle RDBMS (via VMWare/Oracle Linux ARM/Oracle RDBMS ARM)

I love the ARM platform. My favorite videos of yours are where you're using your Apple Silicon Mac and Parallels to run apps on Windows 11. I've been using my M2 Max MacBook Pro and Parallels 19 to use Windows 11 and have found the performance phenomenal! Oh, and I could never give one of your videos a thumbs down!

Just FYI - there is a version of SQL Server which run on ARM natively which is the Azure SQL Edge. You can install from a container.
