How Long Does It Take to Get a Real Estate License?

Показать описание
How long does it take to get a real estate license in California? How long is real estate school? How long does it take to become a real estate agent?
This depends on a few factors. So, let's first learn how you get a real estate license.
To get your real estate license you must:
- Enroll in an accredited real estate school
- Pass each program and get your 3-course certificates
- Schedule your state exam
- Pass the state exam
Real estate school takes 2-months to complete or 54 days. This is the fastest you can complete a pre-requisite program in California. You can take longer in some programs.
Each course is 18-days long. Once you complete each course, you will receive a certificate of completion to serve as proof of your passing grade.
When you receive all 3 certificates, you will have to schedule your state exam test date. This will require you to fill out an application and send it for approval to the Department of Real Estate (DRE).
This approval process usually takes 2-months (4-8 weeks). Notes: Given COVID-19 regulation, this time will take longer than usual. CA Realty Training predicts at least another month in time to process your application. That does not mean you should wait. Submit your application now, so you can schedule your course date as soon as possible.
Additionally, because of COVID-19, testing centers are accepting a limited number of people. As well as this, Oakland testing centers are closed. You can travel to another location to take your state exam.
When you pass the state exam, the DRE will mail you your real estate license. After that, the only thing to do is sign with a brokerage.
In total, this process should take you 4-6 months to complete. That's 4-6 months from enrolling in an accredited real estate school to holding your real estate license in your hands.
