(Haven't done mythology stuff in a while so don't mind me if I don't mention something or I'm wrong on something) Well. Not entirely. You see there were a lot of people in ancient Greece who didn't like, or just outright hated them. One of these people changed a lot of the stories to paint the gods in a worse light. Poseidon assaulting Medusa like he did is one of the changed stories. Though, with how mythology works, it's technically just as true as the one where he didn't.

Since you "Greek" god, it should be pointed out that the Medusa story is in fact not the greek story but a fanfic by a Roman poet. He never raped her nor had beef with Athena in the original sources
