Thank you so much for your easily understood video. I was swamped in owner's manuals, and quick set-up papers, trying to understand, going from one to another. I'm so grateful.

You literally didn't show yourself connecting the cables in a video about connecting cables.

I can watch VHS video on my TV HDMI. That was the first thing I put in my Sanyo VHS and DVD recorder when I received it in the mail was a VHS tape.

I too have a DVD VCR combo. I can get the DVD to play, but not the VCR. How do you plug in the VCR? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Will you please help me? I use Pluto, Freevee, Tubi and other streaming apps. I also watch local channels by antenna. How would I connect an older Toshiba DVD recorder, so that I may record the streaming channels and local TV please? THANK YOU!!!

Wait. Am I understanding correctly that if the VHS/DVD combo even HAS an HDMI port on it, it will not play tapes? My old CRT tv has broken. I tried to find another, and couldn't find one nearby - or, further afield, too high a price for me. I finally gave in and bought an LCD flat screen - it is not a "smart" tv - whatever that entails. Now, I am waiting to receive the remote I had to order in order to use it.

Meanwhile, I know nothing about flat screen tvs - although a big DUH, as here I am viewing - but that makes my head hurt. (I do work hard at understanding all this). Anyway, the LCD tv has the RCA ports. Question, please: If I have to replace my VCR/DVD player, (and I think it, too, is broken), I must stay away from any that have an HDMI port? Anything you can advise. Thank you.

Hi I've got a bit of a problem I am trying to record a video to a DVD as it records a black screen rather than what is taped on the video itself

You said something slightly confusing. My tv doesn't have Composite hookups. All it has is HDMI. But it sounds like you're saying with just HDMI you can't watch VHS Tapes? Can you still convert a VHS to DVD with just HDMI? And then you mention the Composit on the right is for DVD playback. What's the point of the HDMI port if you have to use the composites for VHS and DVD playback? Is what I bought useless bc there's no Composite hookups on my tv? Super confused.

I'm guessing you can't hook the combo up to the TV and then put an antenna using a coax cable and then running a antenna coax cable to the VCR DVD combo?

Hi folks. I bought myself a video player for Christmas. I have a problem. I can't get it to work. My television does not have red, yellow and white connections. it has a red and two blues so I assumed if I put the red in the others go in the other one's. I then still could not get it to work so I tried the second method connecting the wall antenna to back of video player then to television. The television is picking up the television channels but it is still not getting any vision or audio from the video player. Any advice please from anyone here would be appreciated. Maybe someone has encountered the same problem ? Thanks .
