I live in South Australia and emu’s run wild around here in the bush areas. They are funny birds. Females fight over breeding rights with a “good “ male as she’s a bit of a tart and lays the eggs and takes off. The male sits on the eggs until they hatch and then rears the young. So anytime you see and adult emu with young in tow, it’s a male with his young.

These little birds are so cute just like your little boy who said, "him likes me so precious! I hope this fosters a lifelong love of chickens, turkeys and emus for your children. I have had a backyard flock of chickens for around 45 yrs. and none of my seven adult children really care much about having their own flock...except my number 3 daughter who is my number 5 child. I love having chickens. Good luck on all of your birds.
