I don't know what it is about Helldivers 2, but that game hammers my 14900K like I'm rendering video.

I built my 13700k system a year ago and Im running XMP profile on 6200mhz DDR5 ram, no major issues so far, glad I got a Lian Li Galahad 360 AIO.

I've never had a problem with my 13900kf

My 14700K shuts completelly down at 5.6 ghz p-cores. Now i run it at 5.1 ghz lol, no issues anymore

What specifically solved my problem is getting the LLC higher. My mobo wanted to do .5 Ohm AC and .8 Ohm DC Mode 9. switched it to mode 11 (.7 Ohm AC/.8 Ohm DC) and has worked every since. MSI says its a 175 on Force 2 for binning quality which I have seen 180 at worst for some people. So if that doesn't fix it, best of luck.

Mother boards set PL1 and PL2 to full watt power. My Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Master was set at 4.095 Watts on PL1 and PL2. Looking on Intels spec on line the PL1 on 13900k and 14900k is PL1 125 Watts PL2 is 253 Watts. I still have OC at 5.5 my temp went from 79 to 63 and has not throttled on my games. FPS dropped by 3per sec on my main game.

After I built my 13700k did some benchmarks and CPU immediately throttled which was confusing since I had specifically got an air cooler that was supposed to be able to handle the 13700k. After some digging figured out pl1/2 weren't set on a motherboard being advertised as a creator board. Set those and since I was already tweaking figured out what undervolt my chip could handle and no more throttling issues.

I have heard that on the 12th, 13th and 14th gen cpu's the input output hub has been detached from the CPU directly. Thay had been a chiplet design initially and haven't got the design 100% right.

I wonder how many people have a 360 AiO in a Corsair 4000x for example with a glass front. That case will raise the temps for lack of air intake into the radiator.

I have new settings which I am using for my i9-13900k and i9-14900k. I don’t like the uncertainty of undervolting so prefer working with power and clock limits. With these settings I got a couple of FPS BETTER on CP2077 and Forza Horizon Benchmark, went from 99th to 98th percentile on PC Mark Extended, passed the Time Spy Stress Test, Time Spy was within a whisker of the average for my hardware, Cinebench R23 finished between 37-38000, CPU-Z, Intel Diag tool and Prime95 was stable and < 90 degrees.

MCE off, PL1 and PL2 limit to 225, limit P-core boost to 5.3 GHz and E-core boost to 4.0GHz, and use balanced power profile in Windows (although I do disable core parking to keep system highly responsive). Oh and just XMP on the RAM. I didn’t change LLC values.

With these settings, you should have no stability issues, be able to run on an air cooler like the NH-D15 (what I use on my 3 i9 13th/14th gen systems) and will barely notice any performance changes in gaming or productivity.

On AMD there is NO such thing as 'instability', AMD just do it better.

Generally people get Intel mostly for the stability in every situation, over the frustrating experience on getting operational an AMD setup. I could listen tons of example, but RAM issue is the most present, where you need to find the right kit at the right frequency and hope your system would work fine. AMD was a nice product over Intel when they would offer nice performance at good price, even so spending less is always a catch, now we have the situation where Intel cost less and still have better performance.

Intel is doing a FX-9590 just to be competitive with AMD.
The best solution is to switch to AMD.

I noticed my e cores are much hotter with HT off. Also, they’re about 7-10 hotter than most of my p cores. I have one p core that gets hotter though. I have a 13900k 55/43/45

*UPDATED* Asus Z790 Hero 13900k 32GB 2x16 at 7800MHz RTX 4090.Clear CMO’s reset to ASUS Default settings. Restart and go into windows. Then restart and go into BIO’s. Now set the settings below and check the performance, voltage and temperatures with HWINFO for voltages etc.

Here are the settings that put back the performance

1. Asus Multicore Enhancement SET to Auto - Let BIOS optimize
2. LLC to 4 Recommended for OC (5 LLC).
3. XMP II or Tweaked (Should show your ram speed).
5. CPU PL short to ENTER 253 watt
6. CPU PL long to ENTER 253 watt
7. CPU core/cache current limit max ENTER 385a or I use 400a
8. IA DC load line ENTER 1.02 or 0.98 I use (AUTO).
9. IA AC load line ENTER 0.20 I use (AUTO).
10. IA VR Voltage limit 1700 I use (AUTO).

These settings work great for CINEBENCH testing and HEAVY GAMING, and not for PRIME95 that runs your CPU into the ground. Happy gaming and enjoy!

Stock intel settings: "You'll be fine, we only need 125W PL1 & 253W PL2"
Motherboard "stock settings": *"R O L L O V E R A N D D I E ! ! !"*
