Loving the Angeball support John, thrilling seeing Celtic go toe to toe last night. The way Madrid played through the press for the first goal was excellent, the second coming so quickly after killed Celtic. Still think we saw more than enough from the game to remain encouraged about Celtic’s chances

Watching Anges Celtic team reminded me of his Brisbane Roar team. Unbelievable football and not changing it for anyone can’t wait to see what he can do with world class players

for me Valverde is an amazing players, it's just still surprised me on how good he is, he can play as a winger, a box to box midfielder, a wing back, an attacking midfielder, and if you see Madrid 1st goal, it's just amazing what he did. and the fact Madrid signed Valverde, Vini Jr, and Militao years ago is just amazing piece of business.

Real Madrid game plan was to bait the press, you can see their passing was like "come press here"... the defenders, full backs & midfielders... they all moved inside the box or the edge of the field. With Kroos & Modric being so press resistant, they drain intense teams.

If there is a graph.. you could say Liverpool, Celtic or pressing teams start & keep their intensity at 80(random number). Real Madrid are about 20 or 30 intensity, that's why it looks like they're always dominated or overrun but for them, it's normal to suffer & move the ball constantly to make the other team, their players move even more at that intensity. As game went on, Celtic's intensity went to 60, then 40... once it was 40, Real Madrid's intensity suddenly reached 120 for short periods of time... even if they dominated possession... they pass slowly till they find a gap & then boom, 120 intensity & it destroys teams.

This happened with PSG, Chelsea, Man C & Liverpool. The one who lasted the longest or calculated their intensity was Pep's team cause he knew how Real Madrid players.

Vini's first goal was incredibly similar to his UCL winner against Liverpool with Modric and Carvajal piercing high press then Valverde running on that right flank to make a great assist for Vini. This is something these players can and will do, until people learn that beating high press teams doesn't equal just getting lucky or getting help from refs.

Celtic were all over us in the first 45 minutes, coming from a madridista. Definitely our hardest match all season so far

Thanks so much for being fair to Celtic. We stood up to the champions of Europe and made a good account of ourselves. The team didn’t alter its style and gave them a good game. Nobody can take that away from us. The score line is flattering to Madrid and we could have been 3-0 up ourselves before half time. I hope the performance earns Celtic a bit of respect and I’m actually looking forward to seeing us in Europe this season for the first time in a long time.

Saw it mentioned before but first goal was a carbon copy of the CL final goal. the passing movement in that corner around the wide attacking player's press draws the wing back forward as their pressing trigger which in turn opens up the space behind and acts as the trigger for the real forwards to push forward leaving he defence playing catch as they try to get into shape. it seems like a training ground move designed to work against exactly this system.

I really liked this match, I thought Celtic played really well they just didn’t capitalize on their chances. The scoreline flatters Madrid imo but they still did well. In a just world this game would’ve ended up as a 1-1 game with it going back and forth

Great analysis but it would have been good to hear a bit more about how Celtic fashioned their own chances. They look excellent in transition.

Classic Carlo. Suffer on the 1st half, winning the match on the 2nd.

This game was a champions league debut for most of the team and they coped with it extremely well all things considered, can’t wait to see how we play against Shaktar and Leipzig

It was a good game to watch. I thought Madrid waited for celtic to blast themselves out then picked them off pretty easily in the end playing one touch through the press.
