I honestly feel like Umbridges' magic skills are underrated. She clearly is very powerful, and if she really applied herself she could be very dangerous.

Umbridge's wand was 8 inches long, made of birch wood with a dragon heartstring core, noted for being unusually short. Wands that are shorter than average tend to select witches and wizards who are generally devoid of personality or whose moral character is stunted. Umbridge herself doesn't seem to have been all that remarkably powerful or talented, though the corporeal Patronus does indicate that she had some talent (and good) in there somewhere because those who are pure evil cannot produce a Patronus at all.

It’s almost offensive that professor McGonagall has so little scenes using magic to the point that in the 8 movies, she got twice the time that Umbridge did in two.
I always felt frustated that they never dueled. The book sure seemed like they would be dueling at some point.
