100% agree. Get a cat, and speak to your cat in weird voices. That's what I did. Find any excuse to vocalize outside of your regular speaking voice, daily. Make it a part of your daily life.

The ridiculous noises part is something I missed for so long. I had all these vocal recordings that were technically fine but just lacked character, I was being too serious. The vibe and the feeling, even for super serious stuff, is all in the "ridiculous" noises IMO.

That's great advice!
There's a barrier in our minds between sounding how we imagine we want to be singing and how we are at the moment, and most people not knowing how to bridge that huge gap, and that barrier we put infront of us to stop us produce weird and ugly noises - so we get demotivated by that gap and daring to break that barrier.
But Chris is absolutely right, that these silly, stupid, weird and ugly sounds are actually the field to get familiar with and to learn how to produce them and most of all to transform them into what we like.

Everytime i feel my motivation to continue on this vocal journey start to deteriorate, you drop a video with some nugget of knowledge that just clicks in my head, and puts me back in. Thanks Chris!

Oh man, this is inspiring stuff. I love how you bring out FUN in the learning process of getting familiar with the voice.

I accidentally discovered this. I was yawning with my arms stretched up and chest out and made a noise and my ears said it was the high kinda notes I try hard. I replicated the feeling and aI am singing high notes well without strain.

I’ve been watching you for a while now and your videos have helped me so much. Because of you, I can reach higher notes and do it more comfortably and naturally. It took me a while to reach that “I don’t care how ridiculous I sound” mindset. Even alone, for some strange reason I was afraid to really just Let Go. But now I can comfortably make these weird sounds that help me access my head voice, reach higher tones at ease when anyone is around. I just stopped caring and you really helped me do that as holding myself back for years has just prohibited me from achieving the success that I have now. I easily recommend your channel to anyone I know trying to learn to sing. Also, your screams are monstrous! Stay awesome man, love from Texas. 🪐

Hi Chris. I really miss you reacting to Gabriel Henrique. He has new videos from a Christmas concert in Romania. I am sure you would love it, and we as Gabriel's fans, we would be happy to see your reaction to him singing there, especially to the performance of Oh Holy night.

As someone who grew up as a "weird kid, " I would *always* make random noises; never liked silence, so I'd fill it with goofy sounds. Surprise surprise, I picked up singing pretty fast. It's not advice you hear often, but it is *very* important. Excercises help, but sometimes just going wild, or being random can help you figure out what you can do with your voice.

So, being the annoying one is actually super helpful. Take that, society >:D

Yasss! Seems weird but after a year of doing this in Discover Your Voice and Sing Together 365, I’m actually singing covers of my vocal hero’s, songs that I never thought I ever could.

Chris, I am delighted with your guidance and analysis. I'm a layman, but I managed to understand what you explained. Thanks!
I would really like you to analyze Gabriel Henrique singing O Holy Nigth in Romania. The video was posted on Procred's official YouTube channel.
