Do not buy a car from Cazoo or Cinch, customer review - Buying a car for my son part 2

If you watched my last video when I surprised my son with his very first car I bought from Cinch.

We thought we would try Cazoo and found a 21 plate car which we thought would be ok. Here you will see the outcome of that saga!

My son suffered terribly with his mental health and as he is autistic we have tried to get him back into a car ASAP to soften the blow.

I’d like to add, the customer service both Cazoo and Cinch have provided has been brilliant but the process of the return and the refund from Cinch was far from brilliant, it was an utter shambles.

A guy who's not afraid to show his grown son affection, love it 👍

I have learnt a lesson and that being never ever buy a car without physically looking at it. Bought a car from a Vauxhall dealership in Liverpool six months old, 2000 miles on clock and had it delivered to me by a third party. Major gearbox issues and more. Don't do it people.

Don't know about the cars being crap but your relationship with your son is adorable.
I wish I was so open with my dad.

I must be one of the few then, bought a 3yr old Golf GTD from Cinch 3yrs ago, paid a reasonable price and its been fantastic, no complaints at all.

These companies are known as disruptor to the traditional ways of car sales. For me, I would not buy a car online before seeing it for myself. The used car sector has suffered because of the disruptor sales campaign's and the vehicles can be of poor quality but at the top of their price range regardless of condition. Used car needs to be carefully checked by the customer prior to purchasing, this can only be done at a proper car sales outlet. Accept wear and tear but the panel gaps and substantial dents should be rectified before showing off the car either to the new owner, or during photo shoots for the advert. Why pay top dollar for a car you have not seen, driven or even sat in ? Not the way for me I must say, but so many seem happy to chance their arm and take these gambles.

Thanks for the video. I had my suspicions with these two companies in particular.

I bought a car from Cazoo 12 months ago.
A sensor fault light came on after two weeks. The customer service was excellent and they arranged for a Bosch Auto centre to fix it. No problems since and they were good to deal with. You have plenty of opportunities to take the car back after a week driving it.

Just the hug at the beginning is worth the price of any car❤

We’re sorry to see you had issues with your car, but also grateful for the shoutout to the cinch customer service team – they were more than happy to provide your refund and cover the costs you mention. Issues like yours are extremely rare, but like any company in the business of selling cars, sometimes an unpredictable issue can arise. To make sure customers aren’t left out in the cold, we happily provide a free 90-day warranty and 14-day money back guarantee. But as your experience shows, we sometimes go beyond that too. Loving the TT RS, by the way. We’re yet to time one around our track, Rockingham 😜

Super helpful video. Realistically not every car is going to be a ringer, but you have helped us to see the pitfalls. Its human nature to want a bargain or indeed something decent for as little as possible. Family run small firms are my preferred option these days.

Great video mate! Helps people understand something more about these big companies and cars.

I bought from Cazoo and it’s been ok, so far… but you do need to remember that despite the marketing, nice customer service and goodie bag, they are used car dealers at the end of the day and you’ll be treated accordingly

Had our Astra Sport Turbo from Cazoo for two years now. Couldn't fault the service and backup fro Cazoo and the finance. Car was beautifully prepared and presented. Two years to run on the deal and I will be looking forward to my next one.

The door crease is understandably disappointing, but the bonnet alignment could be something as simple as the bonnet having been removed for repairs. You'll be very lucky to find immaculate 3 year old cars. Many will be ex lease cars that have entered the market and been looked after to varying degrees. If you're looking for something better I'd suggest a main dealer.

Major accident 😂

Could have just had a bonnet sprayed and not fitted back on the hinges exactly the same as it was good lord almighty who needs customers like this.

Looks like their day has come! I hate buying cars with a vengeance but that particular business model hasn’t worked. Hope your son got a good car in the end. 😃👍

Usually if you buy a second hand car from a dealer, by law as far as I'm aware, you get a six month warranty. It appears that Cinch only give you ninety days...

Did you have any problems getting a refund when you rejected the car?
