Review of the Novation LaunchPad Pro MK3

I review the LaunchPad Pro MK3 by Novation.

Spoiler, I love it.

The review is me playing the LaunchPad as a controller for my Peak with text layover of me giving my thoughts on it. No talking. Just playing.

The song is an ambient piece i wrote that I'm soloing over with the LaunchPad and Peak.

I used to think of pads as only triggering some sample of something someone else already played. I like that you play this with the sensitivity and expression of an acoustic instrument!

You really feel the music. This is awesome, I've had it for 7 months and had some really, I wanna say 'in depth and majestic' playing. Nice playing :)

I'm looking for a more involving way to make music in ableton like I used to with maschine. Launchpad pro seems like it could just be that 'instrument' for the daw i want. Also seems like a brilliant peak companion. Do you think launchpad pro could be a replacement for NI Maschine?

Hi, Are other buttons assignable to midi CC or just the main pad space?

Very nice. Do you tend to connect to the peak directly and use it as a dawless setup or go via the daw?

i own a pro mk3, here is my review: do not buy it, buy the X instead. the only major thing to differentiate the pro from the x is the step sequencer, and the step sequencer has serious problems which make it virtually unusable. if you need a sequencer, you will need to spend extra and get a push. otherwise a nice piece of equipment for launching clips
