I bought one for Mom a couple months ago, so I could grab her a 256 GB phone. It wasn't on super sale like it is now, but it was still a great deal! I have to say that after years of hearing people be down on the optical finger print scanner, I have had no issue since the Pixel 7. The sensor on the 6 was bad, but both the 7 and the 8 were great for me. I think reviewers don't like optical b/c you have to press for a fraction of a second vs tapping like you do with an ultrasonic sensor.

It's funny to think 400$ used to be flagship territory but a few years later 330$ is clearly budget.
Now sub 500$ is budget, 500$ to 1000$ mid-range, 1000$ to 2000$ flagship, 2000+$ foldable/tri-fold/luxury phones.
And all that while the new generation of phone add nothing new, it's just a status symbol.

Buy the 8a if you don't mind looking poor, it's a great phone that got those thick bezels to remind people where you come from. :)

Why should be a glass backside better than some nice finished plastic?! 😅 the plastic will never break so stop telling People glass is a must! It’s one of the biggest cash grabs in human history making people belive a glas back would be a good idea! Rather than this tell the industrie that we want Aluminium backsides!

In sweden we get pixel 8 for free if we get a carrier deal with unlimited calls and sms and 10gb internet for 13$ a month (24months).

The fingerprint reader on my Pixel 8 recognises my left thumb, but not my right. It also has the same problem my Pixel 6 had. An unknown number calls me and there is no option for the Google assistant call screening. The feature isn't there nor is it in the settings.
The other problem is the voice to text. I swear that Google assistant speaks english as a third language or is illiterate, yet if i use my limited spanish phrases, it gets it perfect.

Why does a glass back have to make it feel like it's a premium device? I would honestly prefer a plastic back on any device to begin with anyway because if something happens I don't have to worry about it shattering if I take it out of its case for any reason I don't know about anybody else but I prefer my phone to stay intact and not all phones with a Glass back feel premium because it's as if almost every phone that's ever made now has a glass back. So if that's the case then they're all premium. But anyway the pixel AA is pretty badass. It's really not any different from the 8 except it stays cooler and doesn't get hot like the 8 does and the performance on the benchmarks are better, as far as GPS goes and maps and all of that, I would say that comes down to personal preference because some people really don't mind a smaller screen versus a larger screen although a larger screen would be better and would be able to show more, but who cares? You're just following a map and directions and if you know how to listen and comprehend you don't even need to look at the phone to follow directions

Got my Pixel 8A at $500usd and they even gave me a Pixel A Earbuds for free. I can tell you that this phone has the best wifi connection of all the phones that I have tested. Battery is good but I think the Pixel 8 has the better battery

The Pixel 8A is the last true Pixel. Now Google is copying Apple. BTW the screen is not flat. It's 2.5 D curved. Protectors do not cover the whole screen.

I hate the glass backs. It makes the phone heavy and glass breaks. No more glass backs please. 😂
