God I was an asshole during this meta, I remember running Dirty Bubble Nox and I just got to enjoy default dancing as the enemy team was all silenced and the hunter had their damaged reduced by 40 and just being a fucking menace

This is so hard to imagine as someone who just started really playing last season 😂.

I played merlin with this build last week, with vamp shroud as starter. When you reach lvl 20 you become immortal, because every ability heals you on 3-5% of your health + increases maximum health sometimes + proc soul stone sometimes, and merlin can press an ability every second

As much as I hated it back then, I think they've gone too far the other way these days, where even as a full tank support it solo you still get killed pretty quickly by adcs and mages if they focus you.

I'd love to know how Hi-Rez dealt with the dirty bubble meta. Did they made major changes on how damage worked or did they just nerfed the top-tier gods by making them more dependent on power & pen items?

I wasn't around for this meta I don't think, or if I was I was just starting to play. I was around for the golden bow meta though, and that was awful. Especially when you got crit.

As a person who experienced this first hand, this was absolutely terrible and games took forever.

Don't forget that ah puch's 1 was on a much lower cooldown before they buffed his ult and added antiheal to his 1. You could drop it, then your 3, pick up corpses and immediately drop your 1 again for a 5 corpse pickup and get around 1.3k healing. His corpse explosion was never used in 1v1 fights in solo because the massive heals and cd resets were infinitely more useful than a little extra damage. Even then, ah puch 1s were pretty much his basic attacks (due to how you could spam them like holding RMB) did great damage even without his 3.

This video just makes me happy that boots are no longer in the game. They were so restrictive and necessary

I know it's controversial but I actually liked the S2 tank meta, just because I love long fights that you actually have to think about stuff, not just hehe I nearly one shot you with an ability so you're out.
But I also see the problem with fights because no one did damage to each other so there was no point on fighting 😂

My friends and I started in Season 3 and began calling Magi's Cloak "The Dirty Bubble" immediately. Imagine our surprise when we learned that not only was there a build named that, it used Magi's, and the item had nothing to do with the name.

Honestly i dont know why bruiser Ah puch isnt a thing seen more often. Yes the Explosions deal a lot of damage, but when he first came out, I played him like Olaf from league, spamming 1, picking up the corpses until they looked like they could die to a 2. Nowadays i see the one maxed last.

I remember my team of 5 we're blasting an ah Puch who just sat on a wall eating corpses on CD and we could never kill him.

Favorite meta by far was the HoG stun meta and it’s not even close.

I've actually had this thought with Thanatos, but you missed the fact that his Scythe does %health damage so you didn't need power for that either.
