First Line of Treatment: Hormone Replacement Therapy

The first line of treatment should be Hormone Replacement Therapy. Anti-depressants are not the answer right away. During menopause, your body goes through many hormonal changes, which do affect your mood but should not be 100% classified as depression. Choosing HRT, will most likely regulate your body's hormonal changes back to a normal state.

I was given Zoloft when my perimenopause symptoms started. Turns out I had a quick shift in my hormones. I am now post menopause, on HRT, ditched the Zoloft (it was making me feel tired and even tried lexapro after and didn’t make me feel better) and I feel better with HRT

Just curious why docs would even
Prescribe antidepressants for menopause symptoms. Genuinely interested in why these would work for people who aren’t candidates for HRT.

What would make someone not a candidate for hormonal therapy?

Actually how about diet, nutrition and exercise. Oh wait I forgot they don't teach Doctors about that.

I’m wondering what your thoughts are on testosterone in addition to HRT?

This would be for ability to orgasm. I’ve tried it and it works but hate the hair growth. I get it in a compound. I try to use less and less but then it doesn’t work. Are there other options? Ps. I had my ovaries removed. But now find a lot of my friends that still have ovaries have similar issues.
