Nah populism is pitching the will of the people against the corrupt elite. Populist politics is merely saying you, and and only you, speak for the people.

If one reads something and they agree with it, it's not biased. If they read something and it doesn't support their view they concider it's biased. People are looking for validation.

This video makes it sound like populism is somewhat about what the people want. And it does not emphasize enough how the core essence of populism is the simplification of complex issues and framing as the us (claiming to represent the people while mostly just representing a fraction of them) vs them (some evil elites). Really, it downplays how dangerous populism can be imo.

This was a opinion piece, not a explanation. In democracy, whole social groups are ignored as well, are we really going to sit here and say Trump, or any president in recent history has been able to speak for all americans? That's impossible for any political ideology.
