Who else heard their song " In hell I'll be in good company " first and immediately fell in love with their sound just like me?

11 million views and still half of them are mine - could the other half give a thumbs up?

Don't ever tell me there's no good music these days. This group is pure talent.

As an English guy I don't think this type of music is appreciated enough in this country. The Dead South are a unique group of musicians. Brilliant music.

I Don’t always listen to The dead south, but when I do, so do my neighbours.

I'm 70 years old and love these guys. I listen to them for hours. My sister is 80 and she likes them too.

My grandfather was an old cattle-rancher.
He taught me everything there is about life.
He passed away about 4 years ago and your way of playing guitar...
That unique way of pickin' made me travell back in time to when I was 10 years old and he played his 12-stringed Fender and talked about the old days.
You made me shed tears of joy as I listened to your music and travelled down memory lane.

Thank you, ever so much for the fantastic music

For everyone who enjoys “country music” but is tired of hearing about pick up trucks, drinking, and how he/she cheated on me. Refreshing how some great music from some good ole boys, and they are Canadian! 🇨🇦

Just absolutely blown away by this song. A masterpiece. The lyrics, each musical instrument just perfect, the harmonies... wow.

Beautiful lyrics

It's been a long dark dirty road
And pocket full of gold
I've been out here now
All on my own
It's real quiet here
Just the way I like it here
There's no one to bother me
Except
In 1955, born into Wadena's pride
I laid my head on that
Milligan creek bed
When I was a young man
I helped build this land
Oh, I put down these rails as a
CPR man
Thought I'd live forever
With my heart in my pocket
Oh, my gun by my side
And my feelings in a locket
Well, that was a cold year in '77
But I married my wife
We had two kids
I gave her a daughter
She gave me a son
And we rode those damn horses 'til we had none
Fist still like flyin'
Doing things for dyin'
Oh, I should have put that old gun away
Well I, I am a broken Cowboy
And I don't feel right no more
'Cause I am a broken Cowboy
Livin' life in the fast lane
Racing cars and robbing trains
I thought I had it all
Then one day, I got the call
A father's worst dream
My son went down and I
The colours deceive me
As I see grey
Oh, you're cutting me down with those
Cold words you're saying
Then you called me, brother
But this can't be so, 'cause you
Slander my name, anywhere the wind will blow
Well, I am a broken cowboy
And I don't feel right no more
'Cause I am a broken cowboy
Yes, I am a broken cowboy
It's been a long dark dirty road
But a pocket full of gold
And I've been out here now
All on my own
Well, it's real quiet here
Just the way I like it here
There's no one to bother me
Except that old taunting tree

Wow I am for the first time in 60 + years very confused by a piece of music. I am a metal head and clicked on this by mistake, normally I would just scroll past, so glad I didn’t this is absolutely brilliant. The total opposite of what I thought it would be it’s so there is the lesson listen before you judge

'I gave her a daughter, she gave me a son' might be the best verse I've heard.
