Great video sir ! I am a Latino who practices Norse paganism (particularly Vanatru) and from my time practicing I never had a problem with any of the terms to describe the religion. Though a proper name for it would be ideal and beneficial for anyone who is following, And Heathenry definitely seems to fit the bill !

The word Asatru is is from the 19th century, it was a Swedish association called the Götiska Förbundet that created that term. It is a general term for the Old Norse religion. However, the word can be traced back to Snorre's Edda and the word "trúa á Æsirs".

The word Asatru is as commonly used here in Scandinavia as the word heathenry.
Asatru has been used since the 19th century as a name for the Old Norse religion, however, it has been used more and more by academics, religious historians, historians, archaeologists etc. during the last 20 years.

Hey Gavin! I love your channel and videos but it seems a bit dead. Any chance you're going to pick it back up someday?

I think it fair to point out that many don't like to use the term Àsatrú in the US because of hateful bigoted groups like the Àsatrú folk assembly also known as the AFA. I'm very on guard when I meet someone who uses the term Àsatrú describe their beliefs. It's unfortunate because hatred and bigotry have no place in any form of paganism but that's life.

Is should be called the old Norse folk religion just as a lot of Asian polytheistic religions are called folk religions not even paganism should be used anymore to make us look more like them.

I know when it’s a God thing and, unfortunately, they didn’t even have God! That’s such a way of time and energy for me! No changes made because I know that they didn’t have God!!! I have to have

Please bow your head and say this prayer now 🙏

"Carry our prayers up to Gods throne, that
the mercy of the Lord may quickly come
and lay hold of the beast,
                 the serpent of old, Satan
                and his demons, casting him
in chains into the abyss, so that
he can no longer seduce the nations.
               Thank you for everything
                 CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE,
                      LORD GOD. Amen." 🙏🙏

🙏      If you can't look and remember the words, just read and pray them while you have your head bowed and your hands in front of your face 🙏☺
