Does not work. I did exactly this, but the files in the directory are ignored and only get 404.

quite a good explanation, I think people who are complainig in comments, they just require more basic software development experience. This video is not a begineer tutorial but rather an explanations for developers

Can you help me in this "Serve static assets with an efficient cache policy"
In Google PageSpeed Insights I am facing issues in cache policy for my React website hosted in Ngnix server. What can be the problem?

i'm sorry, but this tutorial is not practical. the final result is the most important and is not show in this tutorial. should show at least somthing in the internet browser.

Terrible video. Totally confusing explanation of what default_server is for, what the / does, what the server_name really does (many times it's set to localhost, what are the ramifications of that?) and -- as A Lopez pointed out -- what url to go to in a browser to see the result.

Why did they make nginx files so confusing, even the documents have this small horrible font that is imposslbe to read

That's how you end it? Sorry but you didn't explain anything...

is this an OFFICIAL Tutorial? it doesnt answer so many questions it COULD actually other comments are fully right !!! remember EINSTEIN: "If you cant explain it in simple words, you didnt get it at all yourself" title is totally misleading and should rather be "serve a static html file with nginx". This Video Documentation is as poor as the official Docs and thats NOT cool ( i kinda get it when official docus are written for nerds, but this is just too much)
