How to use http-server to serve static files with node

i have 2 windows 10 machines connected to the same wifi network and I want to ran the tool on one and acces the served files from the other, the page timeout despite setting up both firewalls to allow inboud and outbound connections on port 8080, anyone has an idea how to fix this?

For some reason when I set up the server and go to my local host to view my html page it ends up making me download a random file?
