Stephen King is very creative with the story of his books and films

Entirely surprised. Enjoyed about 60-70% of it, and that is more than enough when you go to watch something expecting nothing. The sounds were great as you pointed out, and as dark as it was, the amount that they played with lights and fire was great.

I think where it loses some merit for me is trying to be heavy it feels when it just lets it all fall down thematically.

This one has been on my radar especially since I read the short story by Stephen King and it unsettled me. So it being PG-13 had me somewhat concerned it was just another cash grab. But this short review gives me hope.
