If you’re going to do jump scares, do them well like this movie did. Really loved its claustrophobic atmosphere

“He jumps from closet to closet.” Oh so the boogeyman is from the monsters inc universe 😂

Just came out of it. Completely surprised with it.

I love how clear it’s made how the biggest fear we face is the one created by our minds. They just kept giving the monster ammunition just by living in fear. I think that’s how the Boogeyman was able to appear in different rooms seconds away.

I went to this movie on a first date. We were the only two at that screen and we were discussing the nuances of the camera shots and creature design. An amazing movie. At the end, I said "if she just shuts the door, that would be perfect." _and then she did!_

@2:08 has me in tears right now. Chris randomly pullin that out like a got dayum magician and somewhat defensively explains why he has it and then has to deal with the awkward silence that he created is killin me right now. Thank you Chris, I needed that man. Much love

The metaphor of grief in this movie worked so well for me. I was in tears by the end

My only issue was with the second death. If you want it to feel plausible that your human protagonist can fight the monster, you cant have it rip someone in half with ease right before.

I enjoy how different Chris and Jeremy are in videos. Chris sees the positives in smaller filmmakers while Jeremy is more balanced between flaws and good choices. Edit: said what I said and don’t care what others say.

This movie was awesome i went in knowing nothing and came away with great directing, good writing, Lovecraftian horror, a splash of alien, good acting, and a like allegory for grief wnd depression... Holy crap what a movie!!

Sophie Thatcher has blown me away in Yellowjackets. Happy to see her getting roles outside of TV as well

I've been looking forward to this movie for a month because it looks like it's going to build suspense and terror very well, so I'm ecstatic that it got the Stuckmann seal of approval

I don't enjoy horror films and yet I enjoy watching Chris talk about them very much.

Shouting out some love for David Dastmalchian as well, great acting as always and so glad to see he’s getting more roles/screen time!

I watched it last night and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Jump scares didn’t feel cheap, you knew it was coming but truly didn’t know when or what you were going to see from the jump scare. And everytime it got dark in the film, the suspense rose. I’ll probably go see it again.

So glad you shared the story of how you happened to have the previous Boogeyman DVD. The details were fascinating. 😆

loved it. Sophie Thatcher is great. Savage is an excellent storyteller.

SPOILERS

i thought a few things in act 3 were rushed - rita billings death?, the fact that the monster essentially toys w the Dad rather than kills him. how fast Sadie rushes from the hospital to the Billings home, then to the highway underpass then back home. how quickly the harper household becomes consumed w the boogeyman's stain/mold that evolves into a densely wooded basement ceiling. All that said I really did like the film a lot. recommend.

The trailer for this film is one of the best horror trailers I've seen recently. It's maybe my favorite since the trailer for _The Night House._

Sophie Thatcher is proving to be a wonderful talent. I loved her in Yellowjackets as Young Natalie
