I held it down for a few seconds, but apparently that wasn’t long enough. Watched this video and tried again and she works. It’s kind of a pain to have to hold both my RAB and Parking sensor screen/ buttons when backing up my little trailer behind my Crosstrek. Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your video(s). Very helpful. My question is what to do when I already have my bike rack/bikes on and I turn the car off. The RAB is greyed out and does not let me turn on and off when something is already in its back line of sight. Meaning, I can do what you talk about (hold down the green lit RAB when I put the car in reverse) when the bike rack is not already on the car but when I start the car with the bike rack already on, it does not let me turn the RAB off. Any thoughts/ideas for this? Thank you.

This did not work on my 2019 Outback, because there was no "on" below the RAB on the screen, and in orange it said RAB Off in the center screen (right below where miles to fill up shows). It turns out it's one of the buttons to the left of the steering wheel, below the AC vent. I must have accidentally touched that when I was trying to set the tire air pressure back to PSI for about the fourth time.

I had a 2013 Subaru that I loved, but not this 2019 because the electronics are hardly intuitive. The worst is that if your battery dies or is changed the driver's side switch for the right front passenger window (and only that window) will cease to function until you reprogram the right switch from the passenger side. Many people just think the switch on the driver's side broke or became disconnected. Now I'm almost glad the new Subaru EV has so little range because otherwise I might buy one and who knows what further issues the Subaru Engineers have managed to program in the past four years. /sarc

Hi! The RAB button on my 2020 subaru crosstrek hybrid somehow turned off and the RAB on the screen won't illuminate green (it's gray) so I can't turn it back on. The backup sound with RAB off is driving me crazy!

On my new 2021 Forester Sport, my forward auto-braking and alert beeps stopped after a few days. I had to take it back to the dealership to get some more accessories added that they forgot to add before I bought it, so I asked the salesman if he could turn it back on, and he pretended to do it, but he did not because after I got the car back home and tested it, it was still not working. I think like most car salesmen, he just pretended to know and pretended to do it rather than admit he did not know. So, can you please tell me how to turn the forward auto-braking and alerts on?

Dave, I dd NOT have the RAB icon on my screen of a 2015 Outback. We have looked and tried all kinds of things to turn on the BEEPER alert...we can see the parking lot in reverse, but it does not beep when something is close.
Got any ideas???? I went thru the menu with the steering wheel left toggle, hold and pull and RAB doesn't come up. UGH

I was reversing and I didn’t c a truck coming till last minute and my car braked before I could. I felt the brake pedal go down with a note saying emergency braking. It then told me to drive carefully 😭😭😭
