Europe Will Lead US

While the United States stock market has clearly out-performed the European stock market over the last ten years, that has changed ... at least for now.

Year-to-date, the European stock market - as measured by VGK - is clearly out-performing the United States. So, can European equities continue to do well even if the United States enters a bear market?

Sometimes, short-term relative strength turns into long-term relative strength. At a minimum, we need to be paying attention to European equities and potentially find a spot to hop on board.

Europe has committed economic suicide. There may be a year now and then that European stocks do better but over time, no way. A financial adviser ought to be looking at least ten years out. European stocks have underperformed for decades.
