Whenever I asked people if they wanted to sit outside they’d say “is there shade?” And I’d say “I’ll do my best but I can’t guarantee anything” (because of how our sections were laid out) and then had to explain to people that the sun moves, and circular umbrellas do not fully cover rectangular picnic tables

No it's seriously so annoying when people come in and assume that they can sit just because we have open tables. We don't like to seat people unless we're ready to take their order, and while it might not look as busy, we could be swamped with online orders in the kitchen, or something else could have happened to delay seating. They act like we're stupid for not wanting to seat them just yet

I feel like people don't realize that even when there are tables, that doesn't mean there's a waiter for those tables. It works in sections, so we can't overseat and if there's only two people serving and we get a rush, we can't keep giving them fifty million people in their section.
