This is what happened to my oldest sister. After all the hard work she's done, she wasn't allowed to use her credits, the honors and dual enrollments that she's taken, and even the club awards that she's won, she can't take it up for her graduation walk just bc she's going out of state. It hurt the family so badly, but it didn't stop her.

I won't lie, this is a genuine fear for most students now.(Totally not speaking from experience here) So many students work so hard to have their place taken by someone who can "afford" universities and colleges. Its actually sad.

I got rejected from a university in my area and due to my living situation during high school, I haven’t been able to take the ACT or SAT, and honestly those tests terrify me, but I sent the essay questions and whatnot. But after I finally sent them everything that the application said they needed. I got my rejection letter so fast. Faster than a birthday card from my grandmother fast. I felt like they never read my essays or just thought I wouldn’t contribute much to their school due to my major that wasn’t involved in healthcare or engineering, etc.

Honestly it was the only school in my area that offered the major I was interested in so now I’m at a loss. Because I can’t go far away because I need to watch over my mother

The one on the left was how i actually felt when going through the college process. I had a high gpa, was in multiple clubs, did volunteer work in my community, started a youth org and still ended up being turned down or not given enough money where i could actually attend. I remember feeling crushed and worthless and that still carries with me today since I'm stuck at a school I hate and barely have enough money to get by

Literally going through this right now. I’ve had to work 50 hours a week, became homeless and constantly battling my mental health to finish uni while volunteering at my old high school for 5 years. Just to be told I haven’t got enough experience or high enough grades to be taken in this year… One day my work will be rewarded. To anyone similarity struggling remember that qualifications and grades don’t define you, you will get your moment to shine! Sometimes your moment just isn’t the time you planned it for, we all work at our own pace and you’re never behind because someone else is “ahead” ❤
