How to Separate Names in Excel

preview_player
Показать описание
Easily separate First Name from Last Name in Excel, including if there are middle names, and with no formulas. Simply use tables and fill series to separate the first name from the last name. In this video, I use the latest version of Excel that comes with Office 365.

As full disclosure, I work at Microsoft as a full-time employee.

Because I can be a tad slow, I have come back to this video several times. It is super helpful, plus Kevin explains things in a way that I hear. Thanks!

Is there a way to do this with a formula? Like without using the table?

Kevin thanks for this tip. You are well on your way to becoming a great leader within the technical community. I'm a senior recruiter for one of the larger EPC companies within the industrial construction sector and I deal directly with the VP, Info Mgmt • Project Execution Services within EPC in our company. I'll follow more of your excellent training sessions.

I am trying this on Microsoft 365 for Mac, using Table method and it just won't intelligently detect names.
Okay So I found out instead of Command you are supposed to use control-E and it worked. Thanks a lot for this

Quick question, what happens if it is last name, e.g Mary Van Der Gough or double barrel last name Brown-Wright?
